All Calories are not Created Equal

 

We have known for a while, that the body treats the same amount of calories from a serving of good fats compared to the same calories from sugar, but some new research from the US has uncovered something else.

 

Volunteers were recruited to try 2 different diet types. When they ate “ultra-refined” foods, they tended to want to eat more, eat faster and gain weight (1kg in only 2 weeks!) but when they ate a calorie matched nutrient dense diet, they lost the weight they had gained, ate less and were less hungry.

 

So, is the occasional McMeal OK? Well, no, but it is unlikely to have too much impact, but those who consume regularly like daily lunches may see the kgs creeping on.
